Mumbai : Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais felicitated the Padma Awardees from the State at a felicitation held at Raj Bhavan Mumbai on Tue (11 Jun).

            The felicitation function was organized by the Vasantrao Naik Agricultural Research and Rural Development Foundation. Former Governor of Uttar Pradesh Ram Naik (Padma Bhushan), Film Producer – Director Raj Dutt (Padma Bhushan), President of ‘Mumbai Samachar’ Hormusji N. Cama (Padma Bhushan), ‘Janmabhoomi’ Chief Editor Kundan Vyas (Padma Bhushan), Mallakhamba Guru and promoter Uday Deshpande (Padma Shri), Ophthalmic surgeon Dr. Manohar Dole (Padma Shri), President of Anjuman I Islam Institute Dr. Zaheer Kazi (Padma Shri) and Neurologist from Nagpur Dr Chandrasekhar Meshram were felicitated by the Governor. Twelve year-old recipient of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar from Maharashtra Aaditya Vijay Brahmane, who sacrificed his life after saving the lives of his cousins in Nandurbar, was honoured posthumously. Late Aaditya’s younger brother was felicitated by the Governor on the occasion.

            The Governor garlanded the portrait of former Chief Minister Vasantrao Naik and released a souvenir on the occasion.President of the Vasantrao Naik Foundation Rajendra Barwale, Working President Avinash Naik, MLA Nilay Naik, MLC Indranil Naik, Trustee Mushtaq Antule, Deepak Patil and invitees were present
